The Sprout shawl is the third in a series of patterns using the concept of Assigned Pooling. It is knit seamlessly in two congruent triangles to create a generously sized parallelogram wrap. Assigned Pooling occurs when a change in stitch and texture is assigned to changes in color within a skein of variegated yarn. In this case, simple Stockinette Stitch is assigned to the main color to create a backdrop for the Sprout Stitch assigned to the accent color.

Yarn 3 skeins of Barker Wool BFL Fingering in the colorway Sprout
or approximately 1,200 yards of variegated fingering weight yarn.

Find colorways especially designed for use with Assigned Pooling patterns under the House Collection tab above. Look for colorways with AP in the title.
