The Hackberry Crescent is a tri-colored crescent shawl that employs a simple to follow slipped stitch pattern to give the look of colorwork while only using one color at a time. It uses three contrasting skeins of fingering weight yarn, has a built-in i-cord border, and a generous size that allows you to wrap yourself in luxurious super-soft merino wool. I designed this shawl for my friends at Hill Country Weavers for their annual knitting retreat swag bag. The original colors were custom colorways for their event.
Yarn Barker Wool Fern, (85/15% Fine Merino/Nylon, fingering) 100g skeins in three contrasting colors. Shown here in Big Sky, Tumbleweed, & Llano Estacado but your choice of any three 100g skeins of contrasting fingering weight colorways will work. This is a great opportunity to go stash diving since it only requires one skein of three different colorways!
