Fletching is a right triangle shawl that uses a simple to follow slipped stitch pattern to give enhanced texture and the look of colorwork while using only one color at a time. It has a built-in i-cord border and a generous size that allows you to wrap yourself in luxurious wool. Contrasting variegated yarns really sing in this pattern, but contrasting tonals work beautifully too. Contrast is key!

Yarn Four skeins of Barker Wool Fern, (85/15% Fine Merino/Nylon, fingering) 100g skeins in two contrasting colors. Shown here in two very special colors that I dyed for Hill Country Weavers’ 40th birthday, Blue Treehouse & In The Forest Of Kith. Contact Hill Country Weavers if you are interested in these limited edition colors, or choose your two favorite colorways from my current collections. I’m happy to help you choose.

I used my Fern base in the original design, but any fingering weight base will work beautifully.
